Biological and cultural identity of first farmers: multiple bio-archaeological analysis of a central European cemetery (Vedrovice)

The project ran for two years between June 1st 2005 and May 31st 2007, under the direction of Prof. Marek Zvelebil and Dr. Paul Pettitt from the Archaeology Department at the University of Sheffield, in collaboration with Dr. Marta Dočkalová from the Anthropos Institute of the Moravské Zemské Museum, Czech Republic.
The project involved a large team of international researchers (see list of collaborators) and focused on different concerns. Among these, the analysis of ancient DNA helped in establishing genetic relations among the tested individuals and in reconstructing migrational patterns.

The results are published in several journals (see publication list).

The project was supported by The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC; UK).
