Sometime ago: born in the very city of Barcelona.

1985-1990: Study of Geological Sciences at the Universitat de Barcelona.

September 1992: Graduate (MSc) in Geological Sciences, Universitat de Barcelona. Supervisors: Pere Enrique and Gumer Galán. Dissertation: "Petrologia del complex migmatitic de l'area de la Punta dels Furallons (Cap de Creus)" 1992. Unpubl. Thesis Lic. Univ. Barcelona, 235 pp. (in Catalan). Keywords: Igneous and metamorphic petrology, migmatites, Hercynian of the Eastern Pyrenees.

1992: Geological and geotechnical surveys in several projects of construction engineering. Company: Europroject. S. A. (Eurogeotècnica).

December 1993: Co-autor with Jordi Carreras of a geological report on the Cap de Creus natural heritage, entitled: "Patrimoni Natural del Cap de Creus: Aspectes Geològics". Institution: Departament de Medi Ambient of the Generalitat de Catalunya.

1993-96: PhD research at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and devoted to the research project: "Tectónica, metamorfismo y actividad ígnea asociada en el cinturón milonítico del Cap de Creus (prov. Girona), aportación a la caracterización de regímenes geotectónicos". Head of the project: Jordi Carreras.

Oct-Dec 1994 and May 1995: research stay as a PhD student at the Department of Geological Sciences of the University of Durham, U. K. Supervisor: Dr. D.H.W. Hutton. Research was focused on modelling mechanisms for granitoid emplacement, and specific application to the Cap de Creus area.

July 1997: PhD Thesis: "The structure of the NE Cap de Creus peninsula. Relationships with metamorphism and magmatism".
