Our research in the Department of PHYSIOLOGICAL CHEMISTRY investigates the molecular mechanisms underlying behaviour, in particular learning and memory. A particular research focus resides in understanding the functions of the endocannabinoid system, a recently discovered modulatory system of the body. A detailed understanding of these processes may lead to novel approaches in the therapy or prevention of human dysfunctional behaviour, including memory processing.
