Foundations and Awards

A foundation is an organization that, with the help of financial assets, pursues a specific goal defined by the founder.

Foundations can be established in various legal forms and for all legal purposes. Most foundations are set up under private law and for nonprofit purposes. They support scientific research, young academic researchers, as well as education, and they award prizes for outstanding accomplishments.
