We appreciate your interest in the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and wish you success with your research at our university.

The Welcome Center of JGU is the point of contact for visiting scholars and their families. We will advise you on all non- academic and practical issues and gladly assist you as a service and information center in the planning, preparation and realization of your research stay/ period.

Currently the services provided by the Welcome Center are only available to international scholars with post doc-status. For information on completing a PhD at the Johannes Gutenberg University, click here.

If our stay at JGU is already fixed, please register using our application form so that we can offer you an optimized service.

If your research stay at the Johannes Gutenberg University is not yet fixed and you have questions concerning the realization/ implementation, please contact us via email, providing us with information about yourself (faculty, academic rank, country of origin, home university, possible future projects and a description of your current scientific activities).

We invite you to fix an appointment for orientation in our office hours soon after your arrival.  We provide you with relevant information and answer questions regarding your first steps at JGU and in Mainz.
