Subject Matter

In an information society, communication conveyed by the media plays a key role. Accordingly, research interest in the processes, functions and effects of the mass media and the role of its actors is growing both in the universities and the private sector. For companies, parties or nonprofit organizations, analyses of their media presence and resonance are essential today. Similarly, methodological expertise is in demand in university research and teaching on the one hand, and, on the other hand, within the context of market, opinion and media research in the private sector or for advertising companies and media institutions. In addition, the Master's program in Communication Science prepares graduates for tasks in journalism fields that require a method-focused journalistic education, such as a career in science journalism.
