Subject Matter
The Master's program enables students to acquire advanced academic knowledge beyond the Bachelor's degree. The Master's in Language, Culture, Translation is a high-quality degree that qualifies graduates for a profession. It includes specialist knowledge and skills in the area of translation, as well as in language and culture. In addition, the program allows students to pursue a further doctoral degree program, e.g. in Linguistics/Translation Studies or Cultural Studies Translators deal primarily with written texts. They translate all kinds of specialist and functional texts, such as business correspondence, books, reports, contracts, and brochures. Translators should generally have a very good sense of style. Above all, they must be able to translate texts in an audience-specific and functionally appropriate manner.
