JGU uses social media to engage in dialogue and exchange with people inside and outside the university. In doing so, the university places great value on respectful and friendly interaction. Our communication is based on the following rules of conduct:
- JGU always maintains a respectful, objective, and polite tone – in dialogue, discussions, and the exchange of opinions and constructive criticism.
- JGU is neutral in terms of ideology. Accordingly, JGU’s social media pages must not be used for spreading political or religious messages.
- Posts, comments, and links which are discriminatory, anti-constitutional, demagogic, unlawful, pornographic, extremist, racist, vulgar, insulting, or inappropriate in any other way will be deleted without comment, as is anything that runs counter to the reputation and legal mission of JGU.
- Mentions and comments should be related to the topic of the original post. JGU reserves the right to delete comments that are not related to the topic under discussion.
- Advertising, spam, and commercial content from third parties is not welcome and may be deleted.
- JGU pays particular attention to compliance with copyrights, rights of use, personality rights, and other legal regulations when publishing images, texts, video and audio content, and expects visitors to its social media sites to do the same.
- § JGU fully complies with data protection regulations: Personal and confidential information will not be published via JGU’s social media accounts at any time. If any such content is published by third parties, these posts will be deleted immediately without further notice or comment.
- JGU complies with the general terms of service, terms of use, and guidelines of the social media provider in question and expects visitors to its social media sites to do the same.
- JGU employees use social media to provide information to the best of their knowledge and belief. Any information provided in this manner is not legally binding.
